Passion
At the SwitchCat Agency, it is all about engaging ourselves in projects that feed our passion.
About
Who we are and... What we do!!!
The SwitchCat Agency is non-defined team of creators. Depending on the project, a group of passionates will be set together in order to unite the competence, experience and knowledge required to achieve excellency. Our scope is narrow, concentrating ourselves on what we do best.
Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.
As a mantra, we work, improve, deliver, question, learn and restart
-
There are no clients, only motivators
Our relation to our clients is based on the idea that they will more than often want what has not yet been done, motivating us to solve new problems by finding new solutions.
-
Only if we love the project
Accepting a new project is a great challenge. It is not about income or reputation. It is about what we can bring to the web, and how we can bring it. What we do is what defines us as programmers, creators and humans. As such, the values carried by the project are of the utmost importance.
The spirit of the Agency is also about modesty. Therefore, we do not make our clients public. It is a close relation of trust and dedication that does not require publicity.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What technologies do you use to develop your products?
Depending on the projects we use different technology stacks. For the web 2.0, we typically use PHP, Mysql, Redis, Javascript, HTML and CSS. For bigger scale projects on the web we rely on the Symfony framework, including Doctrine and Twig. For websocket management we use a Caddy server.
For the web3, we use Solidity to write the smart contracts. On some occasions we have relied on Python, Bash, C and C#. Lately we have been experimenting the Go language to improve our application performance.
-
What is your involvement in open source?
Our involvement is very modest as delivering a reliable package to the community requires not only a lot of time to develop the project, but also the dedication to maintain it.
A few packages are still in the works (a collection of Twig extensions and utilities and a package we use for game computations).
SwitchCat/range-regex is a regex generator to help with range validation. It is a port of an abandoned package that we found too useful to be forgotten.
SwitchCat/periodic is a utility package we developed for a game and allowing to retrieve information from the periodic table of elements.
-
What is your involvement in web3?
We have created smart contracts for many NFT artists. Also, we are currently involved in a decentralized project whose goal is to create an old-school text based role-playing game embedding the mechanics of the metaverse and play-to-win gaming.
Actually, we are working on a PHP package allowing full interaction with the Ethereum blockchain.
-
Do you only develop client products?
This is how we started. Our first and still our main occupation is to develop specialized add-on components for existing and running projects. We also do a lot of refactoring and performance tuning.
Lately, we have started to develop our own projects. One being WhisperLand, a role-playing game on the Ethereum blockchain. The project is still at a whiteboard level and will be launched around year 2025.
Another project, this one near completion is called Infinite Universe. It is a MMO browser game mixing the genres of space-opera, real time strategy and role-playing in a procedural generated infinite universe. The launch of the beta version is estimated for the second half of 2024.
